Lot #'s are really important in rimfire ammo. Case in point, I have a bunch of Eley Sport, which is basically Aguila std. velocity, which shoots much better than Eley Match. Other Eley sport produces variable results.
last year I did a test with 5 different rifles at 50y with 4 different lot #s of eley match. the best lot shot the best in all barrels (from high .2s to mid .5s depending on the barrel) and the worst lot was the worst in all rifles. I was testing the hypothesis that some lots that might not shoot great in one barrel but might shoot great in another. there was absolutely no evidence of that present in my little test.
