Eley Semi Auto Benchrest Outlaw

10-4, It don't seem to bad then. Might have to grab some and check it out.
I checked out Midway when I was on this thread earlier, they still have it for the same 9.99 I paid a week or so ago. I did a little bit of looking and didn't see any of the higher end stuff anywhere but Midway. I got a sweet deal on Norma Tac at Palmetto State, 3.99 a box! They didn't have any Eley, SK or Lapua, Midsouth didn't either.

Just picked up my .22 LR Savage B22 F Compact (18" barrel), cleaned it and took both CCI Subsonic 40 gr HPLB and Eley subsonic Outlaw Benchrest 42 gr RNLB to the barn. Shot a 10 shot group from each at 25' with the open sights that came on it. Both groups were nice and tight with one flyer which could been poor handling on my part. My observation was with the makeshift back stop I used, the CCI seemed to open up as expected and the Eley was like an Ice pick going through a 2X6, 3/4" rubber mat (ricochet protection), 3 layers of ply wood, and a rough cut 2" aged Popular board. Doubt there was much energy left after all that, at least I hope so (need more backstop). With the cost of the Eley near twice the CCI and my purpose will be barn vermin hunting, will stick with the CCI when I can find it. Very pleased with the Savage. Nice trigger. Will be even better when I polish the sear.

Buy a couple boxes and try it, and shoot it at the distances you want it to perform, not much to lose. I end up buying quite a selection to test, and have had some cheap ammo shoot really well at 50 yards, but fall apart after. I've also had some real expensive ammo do the same.
I am not selling my sample ammo this go, still trying to find my ass after last yrs fire sale.
