Looking to build a 300norma improved for the nightforce ELR challenge and can’t decide if a repeater or single shot is more advantages than the other. What do you gents that have shot such a match recommend?

A lot of the custom action manufacturers you're probably looking into are more or less on the same level of quality and accuracy. Maybe consider buying from a local gunsmith or company. You don't have to worry about mailing parts or shipping time, you can go in and shake a hand and build a relationship with said company. I shot NF this year and I was surprised at how many single shot rifles or single feeding was being done. It definitely isn't a deal breaker time wise, I prefer a repeater myself, cause it makes a rifle more usable for other matches or training, hunting, etc.

I'm shooting a 300 norma improved on a Bat Igniter. I shoot the nightforce elr challenge and light class with the same rifle. I mag feed everything in cip accurate mags with the berger 245 lrht. Mag feeding is way easier in my opinion. Bats are my go to now I was using arc nucleus til moved up to lapua boltface but Bats are just so nice and smooth.

Any pressure issues with that bat igniter?

No it's basically the same action as there HR. Actually same dimensions and everything the igniter is there cheaper version with a bolt on pictanny rail and blued. The hr is nitrided and build in pictanny rail. The hr was out of stock so I went igniter and had it nitrided.

So far I haven't had any issues with the igniter. Most smith's like Alex wheeler and Ryan who build alot on lapua recommend the Bat hr/igniter or borden bigfoot for those cases.
