Enfield No 4 Mark 1* Long Branch armory 1942 .303 cal British rifle ready to shoot package For Sale.
Not intended as a collector item, this rifle is meant to be enjoyed at the range.

• The volley type iron sight stands were removed from the top of the receiver to allow fitment of an Addley Precision scope mount (Pic rail)
• Gunsmith Jim Albright (of Wisconsin) fitted a new Criterion 4150 chrome moly barrel; 1:10 twist rate; left hand twist; 5-groove. 580 rounds fired with attention to firing rate to control chamber throat temperature and thus preserve barrel llife. Barrel maintained with Bore Tech products.

• (10) S&B factory loaded cartridges
• (53) PPU one-time fired cases prepped with AMP II annealer and primed with large rifle magnum primers
• (10) S&B one-time fired cases
• (130) Sierra Match King .303 caliber / .311" diameter 174 grain HPBT bullets. Note: .308 bullets are NOT compatible with .303 British barrel bore!
• Three shell holders: one for AMP annealer; one for primer press; one for reloading press
• AMP annealer pilot
• Redding neck sizing die #71154 with .333" bushing to set case neck I.D. to bullet O.D. interference fit (AKA neck tension)

Custom loads enabled 100 yard 5-round groups to improve from typical 1.70 MOA (average of ten 5-round groups shooting factory PPU 174 grain BT FMJ ammo) to sub 0.60 MOA 5-round groups shot with custom loaded cartridges. Sierra Match King 174 grain HPBT bullets pushed by VV N135 powder produced nice tight groups, with no pressure signs (i.e. easy extraction of fired cases, primer pockets remained tight). Typical 10-shot sample: average 2,497 fps MV, 6.4 SD, 18.6 ES. Load development data will be shared with buyer.
