Eotech EXPS 2 w/ G33, 43, 45 or LPVO?

I have an EXPS 2 on my rifle and I'm looking at magnification options. Would it be just as good to put a magnifier behind my EXPS as it is using a LPVO?

LPVOs and dots + magnifiers serve different purposes. "Just as good" depends on what you want to use it for.

EXPS2 + magnifier
Shoot within maximum point blank range of rifle (~300 meters depending on your rifle / caliber)
Shoot from weird positions without inducing parallax error
Identify targets farther away
Aim passively with night vision
Very slight weight savings (a couple of ounces)
You already own half the system

LPVO
Shoot beyond maximum point blank range
Wind holds with reticle
Range estimation with reticle
Still able to shoot up close at 1x


Basically, if your shooting needs include having a protractor inside your optic (i.e., the reticle), then go with the LPVO. Otherwise, adding a magnifier to your existing optic is the less expensive option.

This will be put on a DD M4A1 and I would get the G45 if I went that route. I plan on using this for CQB house defense and outside the house defense. I won't be shooting real long ranges with it.
