I just installed the G45 onto a Unity Omni mount and I have an EXPS 2 in front of it. When the mount is closed it completely obstructs the view of the EXPS. Am I missing something or is a riser needed?
The FAST™ Optic Riser securely elevates direct-to-rail mounted red dot optics with a standard lower 1/3 co-witness picatinny mount to a 2.26" optical center line. The FAST™ Optic Riser provides an elevated M1913 Picatinny platform for direct attachment of optics, such as EOTech® EXPS, Vortex®...

Pricey indeed... I went the opposite route and got the riser first, primarily for NV passive aiming. I haven't dropped the cash for the magnifier setup yet though
Yeah first I got the EXPS, then the G45, then the magnifier mount and now I need the EXPS mount. All together I'm looking at about $1,200 for the whole set up.
Don't forget your box of 123A's since its not an Aimpoint! I'll probably cheap out and go Vortex when I do grab a magnifier, but your setup will be badass once complete.

This Eotech magnifier will do just fine. The Aimpoint ones are way more than what I wanna spend. I got the G45 and EXPS-2 on here for $450 each. I'm putting these on my DD M4A1 with a Streamlight weapons light. Only thing I'll need to finish is a suppressor. I'll finally have my SEAL gun. lol
Here's where my jealousy kicks in... no cans here in CA
It was just a jab at the EOTech battery life compared to Aimpoint red dots. No experience with the Aimpoint magnifiers but the EOTechs are great. Enjoy
I have the original 1/3N battery in my Comp ML3 that I bought new in 2010. I don't use the ML3 on a daily basis but I do use it from time to time.
The EXPS3-2 isn't bad on batteries either. Even on standby the battery is good for at least 1-2 years depending on storage conditions. The Vortex UH-1 Gen 2 w/ the latest firmware, on the other hand, uses more on standby and when activated versus the EXPS3.
