Are these meant to be mounted on a certain mil number or can they be adjusted on the fly? I have 22.4 mils in my turret but if I wanted to shoot farther can I just adjust the base to extra 5 mils or 10 mils and shoot or do I need to rezero? I don't have one but thinking hard on buying one. RIght now I have a arc mount with 20 moa and 20 moa base. I wouldn't need to adjust very often just 1 to 2 times a year if everything works out to shoot past 2000 yards.

You shouldn't have to re-zero because all you're technically doing is adding elevation, but practically there may be a slight horizontal shift to check. I switched mine from 20MOA to 60MOA recently but I reset the turrets accordingly because the point of the change was to maximize internal elevation with a new scope.

You can use it to maximize scope travel and for those special times your getting to lob them way out there and need even more than that.
The latter you’d obviously need to verify what your changes really are.

So on those few days sounds like it would be better to set mil on base and zero to that for the day or days past 2000. I was hoping it was easier just cha ge and go. I think this is the best and cheapest route but not sure

I went through that exact decision
Actually now there’s more options to consider with the prisms from nightforce and tacom.

I ended up going with a Charlie tarac
I have 35 mils useable including using the reticle, then when I need more I just slap it on and start at 0+35 again and if needed it’s fairly easy to set it for more if needed.

Same, I'm using the ERA-TAC mount set at 60MOA to maximize the internal elevation in the scope, which gives me about 33mils to work with. Then when I need more, the Charlie TARAC adds all the added elevation needed.

Remind me do you have the macro or the micro?

I know some say those are better than the mechanical mount. They just mount in front of your scope and you set them to what mil you need?

Where ya going to find a scope with 200 Moa? March is the only one I know of. Pretty easy to get a scope with 100 when setup correctly. Slap on the Charlie and ya got up to 200, think Charlie can go to 300 total so if you had 3 you could have 0-400 Moa possible. FYI and that’s with out having to readjust your check comb. With the adjustable bases your lifting the rear of the scope when you add elevation

I agree when I first started it was 1000 yards ( I was only a hunter shot out to 800 yards for hunting) then it got farther and farther now 1 mile then 2k and hopefully farther. You would think I'd have places to shoot in Colorado haha

I build fence for a living and work on a lot of ranches but most of them guide hunters so not sure how they feel about target shooting never asked. But I try not to drive to far because big family lol

One more thing…don’t think for one second that once you have xyz Moa or mil available that at some point you won’t want more
    👆
Once you’ve shot 2600 a few times you’ll be out looking for 3k…….or planning a new build to get to 3k….it doesn’t end

That’s why I made my decision with future needs as a factor

I know the addiction and it’s very obvious @jasent knows his fate as well!

Best part of this addiction is it won’t negatively effect your health and it’s ok to share it with family and kids. Get them involved and you may find the wife a little more willing to accept the “must haves”. Get her involved too and ya may need a second mortgage. But hey ya only live once.

    Yep
They’ll set them as desired when you buy it but it’s not difficult to change.
I set my to double my available scopes elevation.
    Then there’s no gaps
I'm looking at ordering one of the Tacom HQ products. (I feel I'm about to answer my own question...) I have 100 moa in my scope plus 50moa hold. Goal of 2 miles. I need 215-250 moa depending on the weather.

I can save a few bucks and get the Bravo at 100 moa and hold the remainder at 2 miles
Or get a Macro set at 150 moa and then I will be doing my holding at 2500-3000 instead of 3000-3500

The second option gives me the ability to reach out to 300 moa total, I suppose later I could buy a Bravo also and then set the Macro at 200 or what ever. (this is probably what I will do)

My wife went hunting a few times with me but decided it wasn't for her so 🤷

There is 4 models I'm not sure the difference between all of them yet just looked at them scanning threw

I'm actually just realizing that a Charlie MK8 is only a couple hundred more than the combine price of a Bravo and Macro, I think it might be a case of buy once cry once, would save messing around with 2 units also.
