Rifle Scopes Eratac vs Spuhr

Good day,

I just ordered a schmidt and bender 5-20 ultra short and I know mounting options are limited for them. I already have a spuhr mount on my AI and am no stranger to their quality but I really like the idea of the QD Era-tac mount so I can easily move it around. I was hoping some of you may be able to give me a little review of how well the Eratac QD locks up, if you have any issues or concerns with it compared to the Spuhr. Would you pick the convenience of the QD eratac over the spuhr and integral level?

I have both Era-Tacs and Spuhrs

My QD Era-Tac w/adjustable cant sits on a 338LM and never had an issue. That thing is solid.
Of course the Spuhrs are solid, but I found that the bubble level may not be always right (has nothing to do w/mount but rather w/ scope base and how it is torqued on the action/base) so I don't use it. I put a bubble level on my scopes generally.

Another mount to look at for a little less money is Zero Delta (they make them for MPA as well), solid option. Not their quick detach though.

My initial plan was to have an expensive scope/mount and move them around a few rifles. Having said all of this I found that I rarely remove the scope/mount from the rifle.
I ended up buying more mounts and scopes, lol

Side note, is the adjustable cant on the era-tac itself repeatable? IE how close are the measured values to proper alignment, and how’s the return to zero between (presumable) clicks?

It appears so but I never did a tracking test. I use it more to add cant to the scope base. Used it for 22lr ELR and it allowed me to get all the travel out of the scope, 32 mils in this case.

I don't find the bubble on the Spuhr (or any mount for that matter when it's integrated in the rear) so I would not see that as a benefit. I really like the ERA-TAC mounts and they have a great QD feature

That is pretty awesome! I had no idea they even offered a bubble level option for the top half of the rings thats pretty cool!

Yep, they have all sorts of attachments
Pic rail for laser ranfinder, cosine indicator, bubble etc
The adjustable w QD is a solid piece of kit... expensive but worth it in my opinion

It’s kind of a pain in the ass setting up the level on the era mount. Rocking/torqueing the top cap while the rifle stays level. I level the rail while the barrel is in a vice and go from there

What height is that mount? I can only seem to find the 22mm high mount so curious if I just need to search more or if its only offered in that.
