I wanted to create a separate thread to ask this question, because I see it as distinct, but here is the background. I am planning to purchase several high-end scopes, most likely USOs, and want to buy a less expensive USO to test the features (I think) I would like. This includes the EREK 1/10 mil elevation turret. The question is, does the EREK turret provide a significant advantage over the M40-style turret when you are dealing with a fixed 10 power scope? A 10x with a 30mm tube should have plenty of adjustment for a .308. My understanding is that a primary advantage of the EREK is increased MOA or mils of adjustment. Is this right or is is just adjustments per turn?
If the EREK will provide very limited advantages with a relatively low-powered scope, I think I will spare myself the $175.
