I have Kahles K624i scopes on my AI/AT and RPR rifles and added a Tikka T3 to my kit. I put a Sightron SIII 6-24x50 on it. Happy with glass, reticle feel, turrets for elevation and parallax, BUT windage adjustment requires me to lift rifle vertically, get out my little flashlight unless it's really sunny out and I am not shooting from overhead cover to see adjustment numbers etc. The Kahles scopes are so comfortable, I can see all adjustments without taking my cheek off the stock. I am looking to add another Sightron scope ( to put on the RPR and allow move of Kahles to another AI rifle coming soon) Thought about the Athlon Ares ETR 4.5-30x50 scope. The guy who sells them ( also sells Sightron ) says I wouldn't be happy with the Athlon glass when I compared it to my Sightron. He stands to make money if he told me to buy the Athlon scope, so I tend to trust his opinion ( I can find the Sightron used frequently). Curious about folks experiences given my issues, re: glass and ergonomics. Reference points, I am an old fart with old fart eyes so glass and ergonomics are important.I shoot for fun and do matches for experience, competing only with myself, no illusions whatsoever of scoring highly.
Thanks!
Thanks!
