I need help from the Hide to choose an every day carry set of binoculars with a budget set @ $250. +or- $25

Will be used in all types of weather and sweat/water will the most common wear factor. At times to be stored in the car trunk, under the seat or in the glove box.

I have tried 2 Bushnell, 16x32mm Powerview, Failed, too dark and too much magnification, no dust covers. And the 10x42 Sportsman, Failed, 10x was good, much brighter than 16x, focus and contrast was ok for me? no dust covers?

I also tried the Leupold 8x42 Green ring/Acadia Failed? These binoculars were almost everything I hoped for. The binoculars were 100 percent! The dust covers failed. Were designed to be secured by the neck strap, No instructions howto install in manual or on website that I could find. The front dust cover would fall off or when secured with the neck strap would bow in the middle and not seal or work loose and not seal. This issue was most likely my fault, but there's got to be a better way.

I want 8x to 10x mag with 42mm objective, what do you use or recommend for me?

Re: Every day carry Binoculars

Sorry but I I really dont know much about bino's that are in the $250 price range but I've had some experiance with pairs that are near the $350-400 range and I've been very satisfied.

There more that you want to spend but I have a pair of Kahles 8x32's that I bought from SWFA's sample list and I really like them a lot. I was debating about the loss with having only a 32 objective but because of the quality it still makes them WAY brighter than anything else I have.

A little cheaper but i think just as good are a pair of the Leupold 8x32's. My brother bought a set from CDNN Investments and they are nice.

It took me a long time to learn it but I've finally quit with the "cheaper" optics.

Good Luck

IOR compacts are pretty nice for their size and cost. I have a pair of the 10x25's, quite bright an clear for the price. Although if you really want the covers because of the "rough day" you seem to be subjecting them to you might want to look at the steiners. They have the covers built in pretty much on the objective end and the "neck" strap's are fairly sturdy. You might want to invest in a padded case for them as well if they dont come with one.
.
You should be able to pick them up in the price range your looking at.
