Reversing the EO's that biden(handlers) put into place is great. Quick and easy. But am I the only one who just doesn't like the idea of EO in general? I mean the CIC isn't a king...plus, the EOs will be easy target for reversal, just as Trump is doing now. This country needs some of this common-sense shit stuff codified into law, wtf is the legislature doing? Both senate/house are "red", yes? Getting weary of EO this and EO that and everyone cheering. Don't get me wrong, I know a lot of it was necessary, but....

good point. goes back to stupid, corrupt, lazy, incompetent congress. only way around the prob seems to be not allowing any agency to make rules that become functionally "laws" that the deep state has the power to enforce. total literal enforcement of 10th amend would be a big help. passing a bill that restricted the federal register to say 20 pages instead of 6' in height couldn't hurt.

Yeah, I was thinking/questioning the sustaining benefit of EO's just yesterday. The are great for instant change for some things, but as already said, the next adminstration can easily alter and/or reverse these changes. We do need Congress to make law and make things more permanent.

Well, the Senate is "red" only if you count The Turtle, Collins and Murkowski . . .

Yeah this EO for anything and everything has got me a little concerned at the moment as well. I get it, lots of stuff needs to happen in short order, but like others have stated, what happens when the next guy takes office ? What if the shoe was on the other foot ? We just thought the political roller coaster every 4-8 years was bad. This ride is just getting started.

At this very moment we don't have have a president. We have a king. Nothing is being voted on. No legislation passed. Just one guy handing out orders. It could go the other way real fast. Sketchy.

EO's suck but we are stuck with them for the forseeable future as Congress has realized that if they don't do anything it's harder for voters to get mad at them and vote them out. So we are pretty much stuck with the courts and Executive Branch running this dysfunctional show.

re #9. maybe. i would say that that is what we had during 21-24. just the that the king was behind the throne, not on it. i have come to believe that things were so bad at that time that the future existence of our country and, indeed, our civilization was in serious doubt. i almost think that things have to be done that ignore or go around a lot of what i consider the value of our system.
yes,i very well understand the risks that undertaking the going around of the spirit and some of the words of the constitution intails. even a shallow look at history easily shows that. i think the choice to gamble on the current path is unavoidable if anything is going to survive in western civ. Trumps actions may not be enough. Europe, except a few countries in the east,is gone beyond salvage. El Salvador and Argentina are on a similar path. they may be able to save their countries short of the usual so.am. decent into repressive dictatorship. L.Am. has a very different political and social hx than we do.
IMHO we are facing an existential crisis far graver than the one in the 1770s. with a Harris win in Nov,the end would have come within 2-4 years. we haven't avoided that end yet.

Tell me you haven't read the actual EO's, without telling me you haven't read the EO's.

    Here's the most recent 5:

    EO 14191:

Expanding Educational Freedom and Opportunity for Families

    EO 14190:

Ending Radical Indoctrination in K-12 Schooling

    EO 14189:

    Celebrating America's 250th Birthday

    EO 14188:

    Additional Measures To Combat Anti-Semitism

    EO 14187:

Protecting Children From Chemical and Surgical Mutilation

OMG! The "king" wrote a EO about celebrating the nations 250th birthday....oh the humanity!

Lighten up Francis, and maybe take a refresher civics course to better understand what executive orders are, and how they work in government. I have a feeling the next 4 years are going to be stressful for you.

Executive Orders are just another tool the President can use to implement his agenda. EO are the most effective tool for the President at this moment. Trump would be foolish not to use the all the power the President has to deal with problems fast and efficiently.

He could try and get Congress to pass laws. Unfortunately when legislation goes to the house and senate it is usually rewritten several times to get it passed. Then a bunch of other shit not related to the proposed legislation is added on to the bill. By the time the House and Senate agree on a bill the President wanted, it looks nothing like what the President proposed.

Trump was elected by the Electoral College and also had the popular vote. He is not a king or a dictator. He has 4 years.
