Decided to run a small test to see how the new Winchester 40gr. subsonics (truncated cone HP) stack up against CCI's. I placed two rows of four water filled 1. gal. milk jugs out at about 95 yards and fired a few shots into each of them. The first jug in each row ripped wide open, the second ones ripped to a lesser extent, and the bullets came to rest in the third jug of each row. I tired subsequent shots, but they just passed through the remaining jugs and the bullets were lost.
These are the two bullets I retrieved:
The CCI seems to have done better. It's only a single test... but, I'm not in the mood of carrying a bunch more 1 gal. jugs of water out to the range. So, if anyone else wants to verify the results, they are welcome to.
