Hi Guys,

I wonder if anyone of you has actual experience with the Lee Hand Press.
Is it capable of accurate reloads with a good set of dies? I am not looking for bench rest accuracy with it but more like a practical load with about 1 MOA groups.
This is what my results were until now with my rcbs rock chucker press, loading A-Max in my 308 PRS style rifle.
Any experience from you is appreciated.
All the best

While I don't "reload" complete rounds with mine, I do use it to to perform certain functions while in the comfort of my recliner while watching TV. These functions include resizing 9MM brass, belling the mouths or 9 MM brass, sizing and M dieing 22 Hornet brass. I also take it to the range to re-seat {deeper] 308 rounds. My RRA 308 requires a shorter OAL that my M1A & Armalite AR10 T

Hi Guys,
I got the little hand press and outfitted it with premium benchrest dies from "Triebel Guntools".
After seating the first 20 bullets I compared the concentricity and length to ammo (same lot of brass and bullets) that I made on a Rock Chucker press and Forster dies.

I could not see a difference in quality. I was actually surprised by that myself.
Also I shot it from my "bad" gun (1MOA) and saw no precision difference.

As our range was closed for a few weeks, I will test the ammo soon in my good gun and check if I see any bad effect with it.

I have little space in my appartment and sitting on the couch with the hand press is quite a nice option for me.

Those hand presses are great if you only do small lots at a time, an don't have the room for a complete reloading set up. I've never seen much on target differance between mine an my RCBS R/C. With some practice you can get within 1-3/10 gr as well depending powder used. Ball powders I can get to near perfect every time (+/-) 1/10 gr For hunting all you'll ever need.
