Zero failures to extract with ammo that is greasy and well lubed to the touch like SK. A decent amount of failure to extract with ammo that’s not greasy like cci sv. Is there something I can lube these with that will I’m guessing get me to no extraction issues with them also. I have cleaned the chamber a couple times extremely well thinking it may be the issue but doesn’t seem to change things. Using the Sk standard plus for matches but I have lots of cci sv to practice with but this issue is driving me mad. Thanks for suggestions.

The kind that likes ammo with a little lube lol.
The guy asked a legitimate question, maybe your model of rifle prone to extraction issues.
My last 10-22 was a giant PIA, I would switch between SV and FGGM, shoot SV with a red dot and FGGM with a scope. After sorting through extractors, and finding one that would clear both ammos, I ran into issues where the chamber needed a cleaning for this to succeed. big pain on 10-22, it became easier to just not switch ammos on the range, clean the gun, run one type or the other when I took it out.

Maybe the excess lube left in the bore by your SK ammo is causing a slight pressure issue for the SV, swelling the case up some. Have you tried jagging the bore between swaps? Does it get better after a few rds of SV fired? I myself am about to run bore snakes down my 22LR barrels, which I laughed at for yrs, sick of swapping ammo and different lubes that come with it.

I threw the lol in there to keep it light hearted thinking it wasn’t the worst question. It just really has nothing to do with if there is something recommended to lube 22lr with which is what I asked. That question is great for lots of questions asked but usually results in “oh it’s a savage! By a vuddoo” or “Ruger... should sell it and buy a cz” I was just asking is there something to lube 22 with. The brand of rifle I don’t think is important if it was then my response would have been different. It’s a Remington if that helps.

CCI does have a lube though, is a fairly dense wax. Have a bore scope? Take a look at the build up in the chamber.

Sorry your right you asked about lube. Probably any case lube. But if you want to actually fix the issue and not have to deal with lubing ammo then I would look at possible upgraded extractors components or check to see if maybe yours is worn or is maybe gunked up under the extractor. No need to buy another rifle. Anything should hopefully extract one of the most popular 22 ammo.

No doubt some answers are redundant bullshit with little merit. My Bergara shoots CCI SV as good as Standard Plus at 2 & 300 yards, 2 best ammo choices so far. Hope the new Rim X does the same. I'll take the non lubed bullets any day.
I cannot help on finding a lube, lol

Nice! Now those are some answers to my question. Thanks for not coming back with don’t be such an asshole cause I’m definitely not! Thanks!

Been quite a few aftermarket 22lr lubes posted over the years.
Oatey wax rings normally used for seating the toilet,
custom mixes made from melted paraffin, graphite and air cooled 2 stroke oil,
spray lubricants like Boeshield, CRC, WD40,
engine lubricant additives STP, Marvel Mystery Oil, Stiction...do they help? No idea.

These lubes are used by cast bullet reloaders on a regular basis. I suspect that applying a thin coat to the 22lr bullet might work OK.

I would choose a liquid version and saturate a rag with it, then swipe the bullet with the rag. I would also suspect that trying to be dainty and keeping it off the brass would be a waste of time. The bullet contacts the chamber wall when being chambered, anyway.

Let us know your progress on this topic. Something on this link should be just the right ticket, and I suspect that quite a few of us would like to know this answer.

If i was going to lube ammo I’d spray it with Hornady One Shot, it’s made for lubing brass cases for reloading, goes on wet but soon dries to the touch but very slippery

No, I suppose I’m not sure of that
This is what I was wondering as this issue is not surprising it you've got a match chamber. When I put a match barrel on my RPRR I pulled the barrel back off an shimmed it a little so that the cartridges where not sticking as much and it worked out quite well. So, you might think of something like that if this is a big issues for you, though I'm not sure how doing so might effect your accuracy (though I think, not much, if at all).
