I just acquired the final piece for my GL/SSC build, an actual Colt M203 40mm grenade launcher! This is a factory original Colt M203 40mm, not a converted 37mm. The Daniel Defense GL/SSC handguard is also original, it's not a cut down M4A1 rail. There's a ridiculous number of rare parts being used on this build, such as the Eotech GL40 sight, unique tanodized KAC BUIS set, and the engraved patent pending PRI Gasbuster charging handle. I love this build and I'm happy to have finally finished it, for now. In the future I might add a transferable lower, but for now this is the configuration that it's staying in. It's a heavy rifle, but it's worth it to have something different than every other clone out there:

M203 and lower receiver markings, the lower was made by Intl.Mil.Co. before they got the cease and desist for using the H&R rollmark:

Original Daniel Defense GL/SSC handguard with a NavSea marked rotational WMX200 and LA5:

Right now I have a CAG used Vortex scope mounted in a Geissele 2099 aluminum/lithium scope mount, but I'm thinking about switching over to the Eotech/Wilcox set that you can see in the photo below. Should I keep the LPVO or switch over to the red dot for this GL/SSC build?

Does anyone else here have a GL/SSC clone build? If so, please post it here in this GL/SSC thread!

For cloning I would use the Eotech with no riser.

If you have a kitchen scale or postal scale, how much does the 2099 Al-Li mount weigh? Or how much does the scope + mount weigh? I have a similarly marked Razor with Geissele mount but not sure if it is 7075 or 2099.

No need to weigh your mount, just flip it upside-down and check the markings on the underside. If you have one of these extremely rare Geissele aluminum/lithium alloy scope mounts, it will be marked with the 2099 part number on one of the picatinny lugs. If your mount has a different part number on one of these lugs, then it's not a 2099 aluminum/lithium scope mount.

On the flat part of the rail's underside, there will be a 3 digit serial number, my scope mount's serial number is 589. You can see both the part number (2099) and the serial number (589) in the photo below:

Is the Razor different than another Razor? Or just mean you bought it from a CAG member that used it?

What ammo do you run in the 40? I have been thinking about getting one, hows the availability ammo wise?

From what I can tell, its no different than any other Vortex Razor 1-6x24 scope with the VMR-2 MRAD reticle. However, this scope is special because it's military surplus and came from DRMO. This specific scope was used by a soldier in CAG and it has a "21" laser engraved on the left side of the ocular housing above the "Vortex" marking. This is probably a rack number or something similar, and was probably engraved by a CAG armorer. The scope's military/CAG provenance is what males this scope so special/rare/expensive.

As for the 40mm ammo, I haven't purchased any yet, but components seem to be readily available online with a simple Google search. I'll probably purchased 40mm ammo components from on of these online companies and assemble the ammo at the range (put the blank in the back of the 40mm shell).
