Last year I Posted some pictures of a friends doe harvested at 826 yards with a custom Savage muzzleloader. He has had a new rifle built by Jeff Hankins in Kentucky and let me tell you she is a hammer. Tim is running a brux barrel .45 on a Rem 700 action pushing a dose of IMR and a 350 grain Pittman bullet. I was the spotter and he made a first round hit and a second round hit at 837 yards on a
12 x 20 IPSC steel Target.
Hopefully the link works.

Manufacturer list an approx BC, Im not sure how he settled on his final bc. He is.a great and knowledgeable shooter, what I do is know this rifle is a hammer. It sure appears to cover the distance faster than my LM. I am thinking a 1-20" twist with a 350 but the bullet has alot of bearing surface. This is a new science to me but one that intrigues me!

I looked up those bullets, like a .44BC and as sleek as a 45 cal gets. Good application for hunting too!

Just saying stuff out of boredom...

What would intrigue me is a air rifle that used propane and bullets I cast myself, I'm cheap, lol. I have friends that shoot their Sharps with 535 grain bullets at long range, if it's windy they struggle but those heavy bullets do have energy.

Just for the thwack I would like to build a 375R and throat it for 350-400 grainers. Won't be super fast, won't be horrendous recoil/ braked, will have super high BC/ low wind drift and knock the crap out of something. My Surgeon XL wants that for Christmas.

A big ole doe fell today to this front loading hammer! Perfect shot placement at 859 yards. If you are interested in a Precision muzzleloader check out Jeff Hankins custom muzzleloader. These are some serious rifles!
I only wish I had remembered to hit the record button!!
