Hello everyone I have a question about proper eye relief and cheek weld. I have a McMillan a5 stock with adjustable cheek riser and am using a Burris xtr ii 3-15x50 with seekins rings and base and I feel like my cheek weld or eye relief is off. Maybe it's a simple fix but here is a drawing of what I see when prone. Now do I need to adjust my rest or move my optic back

Looks to me like your eye is a smidgen high and left of center line. Does the occluded area change in size, shape, location as you move your eye around? It has always been important to me to find a position that puts my eye right on center-line of the scope then move the scope fore and aft to get the best eye-box.

I had a problem on my stock with it being 1/4 inch high due to low mount .
The sight picture was nearly exactly twice what you have drawn.

I got the 1/4 riser replaced with no rise and all is well, also no more neck strain, and eye strain.
For what it's worth 1/8 lower may be worth a try.

If I move my head forward or back it starts to get worse and it seems that my eye relief may be on but I'm still having trouble setting a cheek rest. Never had a stock like this before my old stock was a greyboe renegade.

Here are some pictures my wife took for me to see what I'm doing wrong. The photos may or may not help

I had it set on 14 1/2 but put it to 13 1/2 , cause 13.5 was the lop on my old greyboe stock and it worked for me until I got a new stock, I know I should be Turkey necking a little bit but not to where my neck is straining

These are more pics that may help I also take videos of me shooting at range to look at later and see what I need to work on. If the video will help I can post it up but it's not the same stock it is a greyboe not my new McMillan a5
