I have a lead on 500 rounds of Fulton Armory XM118 173 grain, 308, with 63 head stamp. I have researched this and learned quite a lot about the ammunition and that it is primarily match grade for the M14 and the X signifies experimental. After the ritual of testing it went into full production as M118 by both FA and LC.

I have even found that this would be a collector grade ammunition as it comes in the original FA boxes of 20 cartridges. Not being much of a collector, more of a shooter, and reading how this ammo was put together with 42 gr of IMR 4895 it appears to be of good quality for long distance. They did mention that the grain of the bullet varied from 172-175 due to machining processes and that it has a high BC of .494 as shown here:
"The original specification weight was 173gr but as time progressed and the tooling wore out, that weight began to spread from 172 - 175gr. The claimed ballistic coefficient of the bullet is .494 which was very high for that time period."

I would presume that this would run fine in bolt and AR's manufactured today but can't find anything definitive. Would anyone with knowledge of ammunition be able to confirm that? I am looking at using it in a Savage 10FCP-SR 24" 1:10 and a LMT MWS 16" 1:10 both can be either suppressed / unsuppressed. Presently using 168 gr Sierra BTHP factory loads, don't reload so I always look for quality factory loads and stock my shelves.

The seller wants an offer for the lot and looking around I have not been able to find any recent sales and what I have found is about 5-8 years old and that sold for 12-15 dollars a box.
Don't want to offend the seller but I figure .80 a round might be a good starting point. What would the general consensus say?
