I would like to know what factory ammo anyone has been having
good results with on paper and for pest.
The gun is a Rem.700 LTR .223 1:9 twist 20 in.
Yes I searched and came up with just the 69gr. SMK. I think
my search engine is not very good today.
Thanks,

Re: Factory accurate ammo

I was wondering if thr 55 gr. Corbon would do well in that
twist or if I should go up in grains to say 75 or 77. I did get 2 boxes of 69gr. Corbon. I like the Corbon in my .308

Just need to try and narrow my grain and Manufacture
down a bit. To save money and time.
Thanks,

Re: Factory accurate ammo

I'am going to try the 69 and 75 grain. I mite even try a
few 55 grain FMJ. Just don't have alot of funds to try
a bunch off the start. I thought maybe 3 or 5 different
ones to start with. Thanks,

Re: Factory accurate ammo

I am currently shooting Federal 55gr Gameking HPBT out of my Savage Mod 12. They are extremely accurate for me and kill well also.

Re: Factory accurate ammo

BH sells a blue box (reman) 68 grain Hornady BTHP load. I personally never had any luck getting the 68s to shoot, but you might give it a try if you are on a budget.

Otherwise, pick up some of the cheapest Lee stuff you can for loading - press, dies, etc. - and start banging out 223 match loads yourself. You could get set up on equipment for under $100 and bang out some inexpensive match ammo with 69 SMKs that will most likely shoot great in your rifle at less than half the price of buying ammo.
