In a van, down by the river.
    Good morning,

Yesterday before I did a bunch of Ladder/OCW/whatever load testing, I shot a few of the listed Hornady 147 ELD Match to confirm zero and see where they are at: factory load Base to Ogive length has them "jumping" 0.050" in my chamber.

So, as you can see, printing on paper at 100, they look great!! If you're killing paper at 100, pay no mind to anything below this point.

But.... Those of us here who want the rubber to meet the road (copper meet steel, lead meet flesh, etc @ArmyJerry might call it cap-a-commie) at distance....

Here's the velocity data from my chrono placed 9' from the muzzle:

    Here's the statistical data:

    7034695

    7034696

So, with a SD of 52 and Range/ES of 221...

Even when I toss the 2757 outlier... SD still 40 and ES/Range is 138.

Your gun may be more better, numbers-wise, with this factory offering.

The website for the statistics is here:

I basically did the same thing last year when I bought my Savage 10BA Stealth in 6.5 Creedmoor. Trying different Factory Ammo and found a few that my Savage liked of which one was the 147 ELD-Match.
The following are the results with the 147 ELD’s:
    AVG MV: 2676; High: 2689; Low: 2662; SD: 9.6; MOA: .651
So I started a load development and came up with the following:
Hornady Brass (all I had at the time). With CCI 250 Primers and COAL of 2.810 and H4350 powder.
Results: AVG MV: 2760 w/SD of 3.7 and ES of 9. I found during the development that this barrel likes 2750-2770 fps of which I load to for my 140gr – 147gr bullets. I'll be doing some new loads soon and aquired new brass (Alpha & Petterson) and will be trying RL-16. Will let you know how that works out.

No powder charge weight? Does this indicate heavier charge than published? Curious if you were getting your MV from published manual powder charges or going a little hotter?

As you know published manual charge weights are conservative with lawyers getting involved.
However, I did work up my loads to find max pressure and found the Node that my specific barrel liked with no pressure signs (below the max pressure signs). Usually there are two nodes (one low and one high). I picked the higher node which is less than then 1 full grs above published maximum load.

@skyrep thank you for the information. I too am toying with RL16 and RL23 I already nailed down a load for RL17 and H4350.

Here's a thread I started about my hair-brained schemes to get good data about RL16, 17, and 23.
clcustom19 - Interesting read on you thread. One thing i've found in reloading is how much difference there will be in which brass someone uses to do load development. As I wrote before i started with Hornady Brass and i'm now working on loads for Lapua, Alpha and Petterson brass.
In fact i spent all day long today measure, weighing etc on those three different brass. I'm hoping to get back to load development for the 6.5 Creedmoor by next month. I've been working on the old .223 for my Savage Model 12 VLP. I've put just over 1k rounds through it the past six months and just about done.

Reference the type of brass: YES it makes a big difference. I found Prime and Lapua Brass are so much more consistent than Hornady. I was using Black Hills and Lapua when I was loading 308. Excellent offerings.
