Suffering from a little bit of cabin fever.

Re: Fairbanks fun

Been the done that...when I first made it to Fairbanks for my tour at Wainwright it was -51...I know how that sucks but it does feel warm by the time it hits 0. Have fun with that.

Re: Fairbanks fun

My dad was stationed at Eielson AFB although we lived at Ft Wainwright. I remember walking the five blocks to school when it was -60 degrees. I also remember one day when they finally closed the school because the temp was -70. Amazing what you can adapt to.......we did run outside on occasion in shorts in the middle of winter.....albeit not for more than a few minutes.

Re: Fairbanks fun

I can't wait for it to warm up a little bit. It really is incredible how balmy 0 degrees feels after a few weeks of this.

The cold itself doesn't bother me so much, it's just that it gets difficult to get out and do anything. I grew up in southeast and after two years in Fairbanks I am realizing how badly I want to go back.

Looks like a button on a fur coat.
