There is other steel out there but it won’t allow itself to be seen……

For the record… Phil is full Marine right now. Lying in the rain waiting for a target to appear.

Me, I’m sitting in truck with heated seats, The Clash on Sat Radio and a nice jug of lemonade.

AA Vandegrift had it right: “Once a Marine…”

PS: Did I mention 20 mph full value cross wind?

    You got me.

My wallet never even though that way.

Filson sweaters cost more than I want to pay.
Just busting your balls. Always enjoy your threads. Crappy day all down the east coast today I believe. We have been under severe Tstorm warnings and watches all afternoon, so I couldn’t even shoot if I wanted to

Bought one of their waxed anoraks the other day because I thought it would be a good deal at 30% off.

Thing is the page never allowed me to get the 30% and the order went through.

Probably send it back if it full price.

Their waxed tin cloth coats are awesome...pretty damn waterproof

    I love their wool coats

Was that the camo top layer you were wearing? That looked like a slick piece of kit! Meant to ask what that was.

    Sirhr

    Nope.

That was original WWII German Marsh camo. Some vendor found it being used as curtains in a Czech military school and turned it into smocks.

I think it’s a great pattern for the northeast.

The smock is good for throwing on over the next layer and not having to get the regular clothes all muddied up.

I think the worlds biggest Corvair parts place is just down the road.

Thanks for the heads up PMac! My first car was a 1965 Corvair monza coupe with a 4 speed and 4 1 barrels. Sometimes I get nostalgic and wish I still had it, then I drive my wife's(nearly) restored 1980 turbo Monte Carlo and think about how primitive it seems and I get over missing the 'vair

I remember an AWQ at Somerville Range, Trentham Military Camp where the fog was so heavy that the first shooting detail was out of sight before they reached the 300m mound. They had to wait for the fog to clear before they could sight in at the 100m mound. It was reminiscent of WW1 Western Front stories.

This was on the wall of the diner. A lot of these are really early… WW2 insignia. Owner said he rescued the display from the trash.

Not only was the food amazing… but looking at these made the trip worth it

Can anyone direct me to reference resources for WWII era military patches/insignia? My father left me a shirt box full of them, and I would like to learn more about them.
