I have some fed. Gold metal match that I pulled and I have american eagle, and some federal hunting hunting rounds I pulled from wal mart, all .308. All the brass appears to be exactly the same. All the head stamps are the same. Anybody have diff. info? Hornady match brass says "match" on the headstamp. So maybe all federal brass is the same? Just wondered because I got it all mixed up so I dont know which is which now. How important is brass consistency really? If its all the same headstamp, and trimmed the same length??

consistency is very important. how accurate do you want to be? i have no idea if they are the same or not but i have seen the results of someone who ran the same load in a batch of mixed brass and blew up an ar. not saying this would happen to you as i know they had everything from lc to remington brass in the mix. you should weigh them and check case capacity now.
