Feeding issues solus with KRG bravo

Been having feeding problems with an aero solus in 6.5 cm in the krg bravo. I’ve used mdt mags, pmags, and now accurate mag. I been having trouble getting rounds to feed smoothly. If had the rounds jam up 3 different times in a match where I had to remove the mag to clear it. Sometimes they nosedive into the feed ramp. I’ve tried tuning the mag lips and even got the adjustable latch from krg I think i might have solved the feeding problem I’ve cycled a few mags in the house but it seems like the feed ramp is chewing up my 140gr eld tips. Looking for some advice

*not an expert* I’ve had similar isssues if there is any pressure on the magazine, it causes it to bind up and the bolt to strike the back of the magazine / interact poorly with the round. I use the extended greyops barricade stop to fix the problem, with metal mags.

KRG makes an enhanced trigger guard / adjustable mag release/ latch. I would check that out.

Thanks I did buy the adjustable mag latch, I also got a feed lip tool and opened the forward part of the feed lips in the magazine and so far everything has been working well. Shot a match last weekend and didn’t have any problems.

Did you credit the mag latch as the solution?

I’ve had feeding problems for months on my Whiskey 3 enclosed fore end. I’ve readjusted the trigger guard and fore end about half a dozen times and tried pmag, mdt, accuracy and factory aics mags and all still fail to feed.

The last adjustment lasted the longest of any, I got about 15 rounds before the first failure to feed.

Will order the mag latch if this is a sure fix. The gun should run with the standard set up imo. Still scratching my head at the cost of this chassis that you have to toy with so much and it’s still not running. Kind of disappointed to say the least. Wish I still had my badger bottom metal stock. Never an issue.

If rounds are nosediving, it might indicate an alignment problem between the magazine and the chamber. Check the feed ramp for rough spots damaging the bullet tips. Polishing it might help, but be careful not to remove too much material

It was definitely an improvement I noticed different brand mags needed to have the latch adjusted differently for perfect fit. I would definitely recommend getting it. The biggest thing for me was slightly flaring the front of the feed lips on the mag which slightly orientates the bullets so they are angled up. The bullets feed straight into the chamber the adjustable mag catch give the mags a perfect lock-up.

How long are your loaded rounds? Are you using mags with or without binder plates? I recently had an issue feeding 6.5 creed where the bullets were getting hung up under the feed ramp. Notching the feed ramp solved the issue. No experience with a solus, but it could be your issue.

If rounds are nose-diving, that might indicate excessive friction between the feed lips and the brass. Use some fine sand paper to remove any high spots, burrs, and knock down the sharp edges of the mags. If you've tuned the feed lips, make sure they are making maximum contact with the brass to avoid point-loading that leads to excess friction.

I bought a Bravo to play with, had feeding issues on my rem700 immediately. Tried adjusting the mag well but even adjusted all the way back, it still had issues. I put it back in the Manners and all my issues went away again.

Seems like this chassis works well for some and sucks for others, and usually requires some adjustments or changes. I was looking forward to using it, cause it looks and feels like a nice chassis for the money, not want worth the headache in my opinion

After another range day after I thought I fixed my feeding issue, after about 6-8 rounds, they came back. Every 2-3 rounds, nose diving.

Noted excessive front to back wobble in mags.
Used pmags, aics and mdt.

Pulled everything apart for about the 10th time. Pushed trigger guard forward almost as far as it would go, brought forend back to where the mag still came free but very little wobble.

Nose diving worse than ever. 5 different mags, virtually all the same result, albeit the mdt seems to be the worst by a hair.

Inserting the mag deeper or pulling it out, seems to have little affect on the nose diving. It may help slightly then with in a round or two same nose diving.

That’s my feeling at present. I have the adjustable mag catch on order, I’ll see what happens.

Did you get a mag feed lip tuning tool? I flared the front of the feed lips a tiny bit and they feed perfectly. I also did the whole mag tunning thing on YouTube. Took apart, sanded the plastic, sanded the metal feed lips, and lightly oiled.

You need to tune the feed lips on your mags. Simple as that.

Will order a tuning tool and try that next but according to my mic, they are set at masterpiece arms spec. All of these mags ran flawlessly with the same action in a manners t4 with badge metal

Sent this whole rig out to Short Action Customs, (after messing with mag tuning for a couple hours… )who did the barrel and action work, to get this all straightened out. Will report back

2 hours shop time and they got it running like a clock. Was told they had to modify and weld the mag latch and machine something on the action. Will be shooting it after I get it back in a few days.
