Sack her.

I seriously wonder how this is going to play out with her Catholic and/or Hispanic constituency. I fully expect to hear her name for the pulpit over this, and not based on denomination, either. A swing at one religion is very likely a swing at all.

I hope (and believe) it plays out badly, She needs to be beached, and this episode speaks loudly to such an outcome. Her politics have become far too strident and divisive; partisan before any and all other considerations.

Christian morality and a belief in God is a threat to communism. Doesn't matter if they're citing abortion rights today or queer rights tomorrow. The goal is removing any power higher than government.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions. Whether other people agree with those opinions should be the issue. It is irrelevant whether opinions come from books (textbooks, or religious texts), life as they have observed it, from discussions, or from lectures (classrooms or pulpits), makes no difference. It is how those opinions are applied that makes the difference. If someone is unable to set aside unreasonable prejudices, that would be a fair basis for criticism. Everyone has opinions if they think long enough.

Feinstein et all should be able to point to specific cases where they believe the law has been improperly interpreted, or admit that they believe that anyone with a religious background is unfit for public service. Without pointing to specific cases that have been incorrectly interpreted and overturned by a higher court, Feinstein has nothing other than her bigotry with which to object to this appointment.

I wonder if DiFi recalls JFK facing this same dilemma?

In that light does she realize how repulsive she is?

As always Dems guilty of hypocrisy.

But still the Dems pretty much run a party platform that would be hostile to core Catholic doctrine, yet still......most flocks will vote Dem, especially up here in the Northeast.

JFK aint part of the modern Dem Party.

I made it as far as confirmation, my thought now is that because the Catholic Church stands for everything it stands for nothing.

If I need to read a book, Ill read. I dont need a Priest or Pope to translate it for me and tell me what makes a "good person" or "bad person" when their own house is out of order.

My apologies to the devout that that offends. If you are walking the walk I am not speaking to you.

My apologies to the devout that that defends. If you are walking the walk I am not speaking to you.

JFK was my first thought.

I made it through confirmation largely because of my admiration for a priest who helped me greatly when I was down. Even then I knew I couldnt live all that stuff.
