Hunting & Fishing Finally Connected!

It's been a long, hard, wet 3 days of hunting but I finally connected at 0745 this morning! It wasn't a long shot, about 25 yards, he was on top of me before I ever realized he was there! After the first shot he ran about 40 yards and stopped. I put another one in him caused I didn't want him running over the ridge to where some other guys were hunting. Upon inspection, I doubt he would have went any further anyway. For the people that were wondering what kind of results 155gr Lapua Scenars have on deer, here ya go!!

Nice looking buck. Was the G2 freshly busted off or does it look like it happened during growth?

The load is 155gr Scenar over 43.5 grains of RL15 in Black Hills Match brass and CCI BR2 primers, COAL is 2.825". I'm pretty sure it was freshly broke off, it was pretty sharp and jagged like it was broke while fighting. I know there's at least one bigger buck in the area and a bunch of smaller bucks!

Looks like the 155's work pretty good to me. I took one yesterday using the ppu match ammo and the exit looked about the same as yours.

Thanks for the comments guys! I put alot of work into this deer! I'd been putting corn and acorn radge out weekly for over 2 months and had been checking my trail camera every few days. There is a 9 pointer in the area that is alot bigger than this one and I was hoping for him but after 3 days, he never showed his face. When this guy showed up, I couldn't resist, especially since it was the first buck I'd seen in 3 days!
