It took a while, but finally got all my parts in. Now rifle is with Griswold Bros. for completion. Very anxious and excited to have my first custom bolt action. However, after reading the "Catastrophic Failure" thread, I'll be just a little weary when firing that first round. Fortunately, I have complete faith in the professionalism of Griswold Bros.

One thing I took from the aforementioned thread is regarding factory ammo during break in. I assumed that my ammo would be superior in that 1. I have new, uniform brass of equal measure and 2. I loaded below maximum. So, is it in fact common or recommended practice to use factory ammo first?

The rifle is .260 Rem, Shilen HV barrel, Rem 700 action, .25" PTG lug, PTG Bolt assembly, M16 extractor, Shilen trigger, H-SP stock and detachable box mag, with Nightforce NXS.
Finished in Patriot Brown Cerekote. I'll post it up when done.

Interesting note: I ordered the H-S detachable box mag assembly from H-S. The lead time is currently 4 months. Found that Brownells had it in stock. H-S were very easy to deal with and canceled my order with no hesitation.
