So just got home from work, work out of town 8 hours away during the week. To my surprise Triad Tactical sent me my order a day early so that’s the good. The bad: the base they sent me has cosmetic blemishes as well as... a rough spot where the steel is gouged. Either I’ll have to take a file to it or send it back. Noticed they packaged it in a padded USPS envelope and packed it in a plastic tube, almost exactly the same packaging the Borka tool bits came in just slightly smaller. I’m thinking it’s a blemish base labeled as new or it was a return from another customer. There are marks on the top making me think someone had either mounted rings or threw it in a pile of blemished badger bases. This is my first high end steel base / ring set so I was expecting a little better QC. Maybe I’m over reacting? Either way the bottom of the base that meets the rifle will need filing otherwise it will mark the rifle; pictures can’t show it entirely, it catches my nail when I run it over. Should I be bitching about this to Triad? Got home around 1 am so won’t be able to call until they open. Or should I just forget it, stop being a bitch, and slap her on?
Same packaging as Borka... hmm... do they get mass batches in unpacked piles and make their own packaging or?
