I have been kicking around getting scope higher than 10x for a long time. I've never had one. Today I called SWFA and ordered a PST 6-24 SFP. I have no need for a FFP but I understand the reasons for them.

The rifle it's going on is a Savage 10PC with Badger standard height rings and 20MOA base. The gun is at the gunsmith getting threaded. Not having the gun or scope on hand to measure, does anyone know if I will need taller rings? I don't think I will but I would like to know so I can get them on order while the rifle is gone and the scopes on it's way.

I'll write up a little review with pics on this thread when I get it in. If you want to meet up so you can look through it let me know. I'm out in Avondale.

+1
A buddy of mine is having the same issue. We don't have anyone local to check on the glass.

Re: Finally ordered a PST

The scope came in today. First impressions are that it's a well built scope. Nice finish and a good sturdy feel. I will be on duty until Wednesday night. After that I'll post some pics and give more detail.

If anyone local wants to see it let me know.

Good to know as this is the same setup I was looking at with the Viper vs the Sightron. I was thinking the low rings would be to low and I would have to go medium.

Sweet. Now I have to wait for the gunsmith to finish. It looks like maybe Wednesday now...crossing my fingers

Re: Finally ordered a PST

So with the low rings and a 20 moa base is there enough adjustment to get it to 1k on a 308 without running out of adjustment?

I have the same question even though I don't plan to shoot that far. I will see if i can figure it out.
