I am trying to find somewhere local to shoot and its tough to find somewhere that I can consistantly go and shoot over 200 yards. I recently read a article on Demigod that said "Unless you have access to thousands of acres of private land where you can shoot, the best bet is to find public lands where target shooting is legal. For example, in most National Forests, shooting is legal as long as you follow some simple rules and clean up after yourself." Does anyone do this on a consistant basis? Sure I know of people that have their own property they would let me shoot on, but when I have the time to shoot are they going to be home, will they answer the phone?? All these things are a concern when all you want to do is spend a few hours on saturday shooting. I would have never guessed that was legal, but I will not complain. I live near Dayton Ohio and plan on checking into areas around here. Anyone shoot on public land like this? and if so have you ever been bothered or hasseled about it???
