Anyone here other than Berga shooting this stuff?

It is listed as "Biathlon" ammo, so I would think it does well in cold temp. I know Berga lives in CO. so I also assume it does well in both cold temp. and well at altitude.

It is a little hotter then what most are shooting here at 1120 fps. Is this a possible reason it seems to be shooting accurately for Berga at 200 and 300 yds?

I just don't see anyone else here talking about.

I PM'd Berga about it, but I see here rarely posts here and may not repsond for a while.

Educate and enlighten me about this SM340 ammo please!!

Re: Fiocchi SM340 ammo

The SM340 ammo is made by Fiocci, but i assume you already knew that much

I've always wondered why nobody talks about it too, especially considering the scores Berga puts up every month.

I can't help at all with your question, but I can tell you that Berga is a stand up guy and will respond to your PM in a timely fashion. He helped me out big time a month or two ago and was incredibly helpful even though I kept barraging him with questions

Re: Fiocchi SM340 ammo

Thanks TITS,

Well, that didn't come out right or did it? LOL

As you stated, Berga already responded to my PM and had a great deal of info. This 22 lr stuff has just gotten all over me and got me excited about shooting again.

I'm like a sponge here, but I hope I don't become a pest!! and ask too much or too many questions.

Re: Fiocchi SM340 ammo

My savage fvt loves this stuff. I also like the amount of lube used on it, I had bought some rws target when I bought the last batch of the fiocchi and I had to wipe down every individual cartridge from the rws because it had way too much lube on it (so heavy, it looked like balled wax on some shells and bullets). The sm340 was perfect, and I have yet to have a ftf with it, and out of five hundred, I can count my flyers on one hand. I have shot it from 50-200 with no problems at all.
Cheaperthandirt has it for the best price that I have found, at $8.08 a box. Midway's price went up this year to almost $11.00 a box. I plan to order another 500 from ctd in a month or so, just ordered some Lapua center-x to test for now.
Very good stuff, don't be afraid to try it

I planned my screen name to be shortened to "TITS" on purpose

Gotta love 'em!

Rimfire is such an awesome niche of the sport! Mainstream shooters don't pay it the attention it deserves but the ones who do choose to get into it reap major benefits from it almost 100% of the time. But don't hesitate to ask questions, this is a public forum and it's here for shooters to help other shooters. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise!
