I recently acquired a R700 chambered in big dumb magnum . I haven't fired it , but the PO said he had some issues with severe cratering and a few pierced primers with mild loads .

Sounds like I need the pin bushed but have a few questions. With a little searching it looks like most smiths turn down the pin to match the bushing. Seems common, but is it going to effect a magnum or am I just over thinking it ?

Chad did my ai bolt, way nicer now on stiffer loads. Basically got another 50fps out of it to the next node and zero primer craters or blanking. Originally it was on verge and some primers were blanked in August weather.
