Stumbled across this 1280 resolution clip on. Will be interesting to see the rest of the market follow suit.

10 yr warranty. Damn. Have they been around 10 years? Don’t know much about Guide

Looks like 8 yrs. Wow.

Looks great.

But my big question on all of these type of devices lately is. Does it also come with a remote detonation backdoor feature.

That appears to be the $64 dollar question these days with anything with a battery in it. 🤷‍♂️

Had my hands on their 50mm clip on with a 640 sensor and it’s really nice. Not perfect but certainly worth what @SkyScrapin is charging for them!!

@WhereNow&How I can’t say I disagree with you but as long as I’ve got one good ole USA unit then I’m happy because I don’t think I will discover some ting wong when I most need it

No, but I've considered the 640 version with LRF because the 1280 only increases FOV to like 17 deg which is kinda redundant for me. It is pretty cool to get RH25 FOV with Yoter C like long range performance and magnification support.

Personally, I'd rather a 75mm unit with 10-12 deg FOV and great magnification support

Anyone know anything about these guys? 1280 sensor with 10deg FOV sounds about right (and 22 oz). Looks like vaporware to me but I’d love to be wrong

Yes, that is Dr. Leo Volfson who owns Torrey Pines Logic. He is an extremely knowledgable man and very good to do business with. He did some custom design and fabrication thermal magifier work for me about 6 years ago now. They were exceptionally good to deal with and can handle "one off" design and fabrication.

I would give him a call and he can answer all of your questions.

In fact tonight I was out enjoying one of the custom 62 mm 3X Germanium Magnifiers he made for me that fits perfectly via QD on an Iray RH25 and turns it into a beast of long range spotter. Watched two 10 point bucks tonight at about 400 yards and could clearly see their antlers which a lot of thermals are incapable of rendering this time of the year when they are hard and almost the same temperature as the background.

With this setup I can use the RH25 in thick environments and shorter range in Wide FOV or quickly QD the 3X Magnifier on and at 2X digital zoom in hand held mode = 2.6x on the RH25 plus a 3X Magnifier be at 7.8X Narrow FOV (320 x 256) for longer range open field spotting. Makes the RH25 and excellent unit for this role. The really cool thing is that even with the maginfier on you can rotate the RH25 into Helmet/Clip On Mode and it goes back to 1X times 3X Magifier = 3X at (640 x 512). So it is just a flip of the unit to go from 7.8X (320 x 256) to 3X (640x512). This is truely a very unique spotter settup that is the most friendly and versitile I have ever used. Throws and outstanding image in both 640 x 512 or in 320 x 256.

For clip-on out there in front, a remote On/off pressure pad switch for LRF ? Or a remote 'unit standby' off/on .. that would be a sweet option.

How much did the magnifier cost?

How much did the magnifier cost?
$2,050 each six years ago. I had him make me two of them. Moanknee ~ Well ~ Spent.

They were originally designed to clamp on the pictail of Flir PTS 233's and they did great in that role. Quickly turned those 1.5 X Native Magnification into 4.5 Native Magnification. To be able to keep POA/POI you had to have a fixed arm so the Magnifier does not rotate.

That all worked out great and since then, I have also been able to double duty those Magnifiers on various smaller 1X spotters to turn them into beasts.

I am pretty sure he would have the design he did for me still on file. With the JV Innovations SBR Dovetail Adapter on a RH 25 or RL 25 this design will QD attach to the RH25 and RL 25 almost perfectly optically aligned.

This is the QD mount I attached to the 3X Magnifier arm.

Tactical QD Quick Release/Detach Mount, Full Metal Optics Mount Adapter Accessories for 20mm Picatinny Rail, Choose for DBAL-A2. Make sure to select the one for the DBAL-A2.
