Rifle Scopes first AR optics help

So I just impulse purchased a stag arms model 6 super varmint. I'm trying to fit a nikon monarch 6-24x50 on it. The problem I'm having is even if I place the scope to its foward most position with higher rings it makes grabing the charging handle very difficult. Being new to AR platforms I'm not sure what options are out there to maintain a stable base and I wanted to avoid a ton of adapters and risers if possible. All help would be great, thanks

You need an extension to the charging handle, so you don't have to reach under the scope to access it. It's called a "TacLatch".

yup.... just punch out roll pin, switch, tap back in (just don't loose the spring or pin)

I'm kind of a tac latch hater. I got 2 of em and as soon as I get around to it I'll be removing them. The PRi latch doesn't take up as much space but is still big enough to let you charge with optics mounted although I feel like it still sucks. The oem latch is serrated and it gives you grip. You don't need the grip to charge normally, but if you were running the rifle one handed you can charge the rifle by pushing a magazine down against the latch and using your index finger to actuate the bolt-catch. The mag will slip off of the badger and PRi latches. The 2nd hangup I have with the tac latch is that it gives you the tendency to charge the rifle like if it were a side-charging bolt, you end up putting a lot of torque and wear on just one side of your charging handle and while you won't snap the handle in half altogether I feel like this is detrimental to the service life of the upper and your charging handle. Granted charging handles are cheap parts to replace but I think the Tac Latch could have been designed better. I think the PRi big weenie with some serrations cut into it would be the best all around design.

Powder, if your not using an extended charging handle how do you manipulate the latch with a long scope I literally can get maybe one finger in and around, seems like a tac latch is the way to go, is there an easy extended rail option to push the scope further foward if the eye relief is generouse enough. I saw a larue scope base that appeared to hang over the front of the top rail to allow the scope to be positioned further foward.

Is there any major advantage for going with one method over the other, ie larue 1.5 or the extended charging handle latch. Sorry if this is rudementary but I have zero experience with either, and for once I'm going with research versus impulse buying.

theres a dozen scopes and mounts, but IMHO there is only 1 charging handle, the BCM gunfighter

sorry, just got one on friday and its like night and day with the old style. HIGHLY recommended.
