First time out with New Sako P94S varnmit

So I finally got the mueller scope mouted and took it out with some boxes of RWS match ammo. I picked up this rifle a few months ago the bolt had never been installed in it. Currently rifle sits in the stock it came with which is a nice wood stock and the only thing I added was a DIP weaver rail and DIP large tactical bolt knob. I am considering making this into a trainer and looking a stock options(not many). My long range gun is a custom built rifle in an aics chasis. Here is the only picture I took of the first group I shot. Two shots to dial it in and then proceeded to shoot the 10 shot group you see at 50 yards. I really like the way this thing shoots. So do you guys think I should continue with this platform for a trainer or leave as is and wait on my custom built trainer(could be a long while)?

Mark Chesebro emailed me about a Tikka master sportier stock for the sako. Anyone have any experience with this stock?

i don't know, that's a purty rifle as is. if it shoots that well without a little breaking in, i don't think i'd change a thing.

thats a beautiful rifle that shoots well. I'd leave it un modified. If you replace the stock, keep the original.

I was also thinking that I would hang on to the original stock if I pick up another stock for it. I am going back to the range in the morning and give it another whirl. Thanks for the replies.

That is one pretty rifle. I walked into a local shop last week as a guy was finishing up the paperwork on one that had been traded in. The stock on that one looked like a fence post compared to yours. The owner of the shop said the rifle lasted less than 5 minutes after they had it in the log book.

these are getting harder and harder to find, and even in rough shape they are still bringing big dollars. We had a great day at the range. My son and I had some friendly competion at the 50 yard line at our club. We have five of the orange rubber ball targest set up at fifty yards. They are hanging down and are about 3 feet apart from each other. We took turns seeing how fast we could hit all the targests from the bench, offhand, and prone positions. I won the offhand, but my 14 year old and his CZ452 put a spanking on me from the bench and prone positions. His best time was under 10 seconds. I need to do some trigger work on my Sako, its just heavy of pull for my taste. It was a great day and the Sako managed fantastic groups. I think I am going to leave it alone and just wait for my tactical build to be finished. It shoots great and as most of you have said it "Purty" I shot Federal Match ammo this time out and it seemed to like it. I want to try some less expensve match ammo like Wolf or SK and see if the Sako takes to it. I will let yall know when that happens. Thanks for all the input.

I really like it. I was not a fan of inexpensive optics but I am very pleased with the performance of this mueller. It is very clear and the 1/8 clicks make fine adjustments easy. The turrets are large and easy to work the side parallax is very convenient. I read that the eye relief was a bit difficult at high magnification but I have had no issues and I have been shooting with it at 24 and 32 power. I highly recommend this scope for rimmfire rifles.

I have both a P94S and a Quad. The P94S is much better quality. Both shoot excellent.

Yea that's why I waited to find a p94s. The quads are definitely great rifles but I think the fit and finish is better on the p94 s

McMillan has tactical stock that they can inlet for your P94s.

I know but my main center fire rifle is in an aics chassis. So I am going to leave this one as is and just have Mike Bush build me a trainer with his new 22lr action in an aics chassis to match the center fire he built me.

I had the same rifle and shot it as it was for a good while accumulating parts. I prefer the Finnfire over the quad and the varmint barrel is really very accurate. They are very solid rifles. Mine likes most every good ammo I have tried but really likes Wolf Match. After a couple of years I had Mark at Short Action Customs turn it into this:
