I've been working on a 700 SPS varmint for the past two months as my first ever long range rifle. Well This week I finally got to stretch its legs a little. Thursday I shot my first ever group past 100yds at a distance of 350yds(ranged through mil reticle)...I was off on my elevation by about 1MOA and estimated a zero value wind...group was just under 4".
Well today I shot at a distance of 510yds again ranged through the reticle...dead on with my elevation and needed about 2 more MOA of windage(I was reluctant to dial enough...DOH!). I was exstatic to see that my group was around 3"! I know this isn't a big deal to more experienced shooters but I am grinning from ear to ear! This was shooting 168gr Hornady Amax match factory loads.
