I've hunted big game for about 16 years or so but have never had the inclination to go after a Turkey. This year after seeing so many during deer season I figured I'd go ahead and get a tag for one. Picked up the tag this morning at about 0830, and by 1000 I had a bird on the ground. Decent tom was standing out at 163 just craning his neck up trying to get a better look at me. Sent a 55 gr VMax from the 22-250 through the base of his neck. He's sitting in a brine solution getting ready to head for the smoker for Thanksgiving. His beard measured 9 7/8"
