Deploying to Poland for a year and plan on packing the connex with several fly rods. Anyone been there and fished?

Dont know anything about fishing there but the Poles are solid people, have a great year.
Where will you be based?
Did some spin fishing on the Wisła (Vee-swa) in Warsaw. Nothing crazy, but fun. There may have been vodka and beer involved.....
From my experiences there, folks were very kind and enjoyed good company. I would go back again and again.
Keep on the PT, the locals like to feed you (like a midwest grandmother) and are only pleased when you have to loosen your belt because you have eaten so much it seems.

Never angled in Poland, but Czech-style (wet) nymph fishing is supposed to be a big deal.

Nice! I fished in Poland, but only salt water - groundfish on the bay off Gdynia. Second on the great people there - enjoy!
Also, if you are not married, enjoy. Poland if full of extremely attractive women. Warsaw is a great town. Many of the younger folks speak English and are excited for a chance to practice with an American. Travel around if you can, when you can. So many amazing things to see.
Im not Catholic and the churches there are amazing.
My ex wife is Polish and is very pretty. Not a pleasant lady to be around, and very pretty. I see her often as we have a daughter together and I still cant figure out how she can have eyes like that and be such a .........

Your profile says Oregon, have you ever fished the Columbia for Walleye? If so, I would try for European Zander, a way larger species of the perch family like Walleye, just giant walleye.
That said, I haven't the foggiest where to go about doing so, lol

I’ve caught walleye up in Canada but not on the Columbia.
Another page says they have fly fishing so life can't be all that bad . Slightly different fish that swim backwards lol lots of luck .
Just limit your intake of lake fish, a lot of the lakes have high levels of heavy metals and industrial chemicals. Legacy of World wars, industrialization and the communist block not caring about the environment.
