The World as we know it.
I'm going to have my Para PXT 5" cerakoted soon, slide, frame, beaver tail, mainspring housing. Just wondering who has had this done and if they had any trouble with fit and function after it was coated. I know cerakote will were where it needs to and all that, but this is also my carry gun. So it has to run no matter what.

Spray your pieces and what you'll have to do is kinda refit your parts. Over time the cerakote will wear in the slide and frame, but you need to make sure all of your safetys are working right off the bat. Some TLC and 400 grit will go a long ways

Agreed. The Shake-N-Bake finishes tend to be thicker. You'll have small tolerance issues. It'll wear in as well, but the sand-paper never hurts and is much faster.

If spraying yourself, I would just tape off what you don't want sprayed.

I recently had a Springfield 1911 Range Officer cerakoted to match the Springfield 1911 "Loaded" MC model. I asked that the Range Officer parts be cerakoted to match that model exactly. That was a perfect match. My gun was returned in pieces after cerakoting since I delivered it in pieces and would reassemble it myself. That is when the trouble began, The frame and slide fit together perfectly. However, the extractor was a pain to install, the firing pin will not go back into its location and the trigger sticks constantly, requiring force to move. How can I fix this situation?

Don'e cerakote guns that dont need it........or pick a different surface treatment.
I couldn't find a SA 1911 "Loaded" MC Model to buy, that is why I chose the option of cerakoting a Range Officer to emulate one. The cerakote did the trick, and as of this writing, it is slowly but surely going back together. I was able to finally get the firing pin working, but the trigger is still a little sluggish when being pulled. I was just trying to get some info to assist in the reassembly process. Thanks for your input and it does look so much like one now.
