I'm working up loads for a 10.5 inch SBR in 5.56. I know I have to go heavier bullet to get the bullet to fragment with lower velocity, however the muzzle flash is horrific on such a short barrel. I do have the 1:7 twist.

Military powders often have a flash reducer. I am unable to find information on whether any commercially available powders are available with a flash reducer.

Anyone have any ideas?

Re: Flash Retardant Powder

Fit a flash supressor or if you can a supressor the flas modified powders are not available in canister form fir sporting use so you are out of luck. the only option would be to buy some surplus powder that is pulled down and is flash supressed.

Boltripper, perhaps we should change your name to Captain Obvious.....you crack me up.

That's too easy, then I wouldn't have a reason to get in the reloading room and play mad scientist..
