I'm considering a custom build and been turned off by the long lead time for a Manners or McMillan stock. Flat-top McMillan stocks are available in a much shorter time from aftermarket suppliers so I was considering one of those - but I don't want to be sorry later that I didn't just wait for the completed stock from the manufacturer. So:
Is there any real difference in the end result (function, accuracy, appearance) between a stock inletted by McMillan for a specific action or one of their flat-tops inletted by a custom gunsmith?
Thanks,
Dave
