Re: Flip Cap for USO with ERGO

I was just wondering if there was any trick or tip people use to overcome this. It's not going to kill me as I rarely need to focus inside 100, but I thought I'd see if there was a way. Thanks in advance.

+2 on <span style="font-style: italic">LoneWolfUSMC</span>'s comments, but I have a few myself:
When I had an SN-3 ERGO Lo Profile I oriented the Objective's Flip Open in such a way that I was able to adjust the parallax from below 100 to out to infinity. I couldn't get to 50 but I didn't care since I never shoot that close anyway. The caveat is that this required me to swing the "cap" around the barrel as I turned the Objective bell to adjust the parallax. I had also trimmed the tabs/ears on the Flip Open for additional clearance. I trimmed them down to nearly nothing which made it harder to open the BC but it did help.
With your scope's current settings the only way to adjust the parallax setting down to 50 yards is to remove the Flip Open (probably no biggee since you probably rarely - if ever, shoot that close). The alternative would be to send the scope to USO and have them re-adjust the Parallax to a more narrow range of adjustment. IIRC US will do this free of charge and re-laser etch the distance settings so they are in the correct places.
However, if you want a brand new objective ring they will probably charge you for it.
