I purchased this FLIR Breach, direct from FLIR, in 12-2021. It has been removed from its Pelican Hard Case one time and that was when I had FLIR Tech Support assist me in updating its firmware. I also purchased and included the MOD ARMORY Battery Extender, along with one 16650 Rechargeable Battery with Micro-USB charging port built into the 16650 battery. At the same time of updating the FLIR Breach FW, I installed and tested the MOD ARMORY Battery Extender w/ 16650 Rechargeable Battery, for 100% function.
Having never used this unit, I cannot confirm for myself, how much longer the MOD ARMORY Battery Extender with 16650 rechargeable battery lasts, compared to using the FLIR battery cap and one CR123. The data for the MOD ARMORY Extended Battery states a run time of 5 HOURS, which is 3.5 times longer than using the factory FLIR battery cap and one CR123, which FLIR states lasts 1.5 HOURS.
Also, as most know, when using the MOD ARMORY Battery Extender, even when the 16650 battery is fully charged, the battery indicator icon that is displayed on the FLIR BREACH screen, always reads low. When using the FLIR battery cap with one CR123, the battery indicator icon functions normally.
I have listed the current FW Version in the NOTES Section of the included FLIR User Manual. This unit has been registered through the FLIR website, using its Serial Number and has approximately 1.5 years of warranty remaining.
FROM FLIR WEBSITE: Built for the rigors of law enforcement, the FLIR Breach PTQ136 spots the heat of suspects and objects in total darkness. Featuring the new FLIR Boson core and a compact design, the FLIR Breach offers unmatched tactical awareness. Weighing only 7.4 ounces (210 grams), the FLIR Breach can be concealed in a pocket or mounted to a helmet with its mini-rail feature, while adding minimal weight to officers’ heavy gear. Additional features include onboard recording and seven palettes for fast detection of suspects or evidence, day or night.
Asking $1750 shipped.
