I need another .45 like a hole in the head but I've been reading some nice things about the FN .45 and wanted a pistol that I could leave in a bug out kit in a vehicle that may go untouched for a year or two or longer...combat teflon so to speak and although I own and appreciate Glocks I like the trigger action options of the FN more...anybody have any experience with this weapon ?

Re: FN 45: Opinions please

Not with the .45, but I have a lot of experience with the FNP-9M. It is a tremendous pistol, the most accurate out of the box pistol I have ever fired.

I took the pistol out of the box, cleaned the cosmoline off, lubed it up, a couple of squirts of "Shooters Lube" on the slide, and handed the pistol to my wife who proceeded to put 10 rds in the bull at 15 yds.

It is extremely accurate, I have never had a misfire, FTF etc even though I purposely limp wristed it to see if I could force it to malfunction.

I do not know if all of the rest of FNH's products are like this, but mine is a quality piece, breaks down like a sig and was extremely reasonable.

I have no problem trusting my life to this pistol

I've put one thru its paces; I like it alot. Very nice ergonomics, easy to use control features. Well balanced, handling was fine, recoil seeemed softer. Very accurate.
