I have been looking at some FN bolt guns. Are these FN's worth the money. I do not see many people shooting them. I really like the A4 stock. I see a company selling the A2 with the A4 stocks for $1500, is this somthing I should consider or just go with a Remington. I have used the search function and didnt see any previous threads, sorry if this is a repeat.

The Google SH search link:

It is your friend.

Also, the FN is a fantastic rifle. They do sell at a higher price point than the Remington, but you do get what you pay for with the FN. One of the best actions on the market and a McMillian stock to boot. Most will shoot lights out right out of the box. IMO, you would not go wrong if you went with the FN.

Re: FN A2/A4 Question?

FWIW, I bought a used FN SPR A1 from a member here five years ago for around $1200. Given my positive experience, I wouldn't hesitate to pay $1500 for a new one. While not a fan of the factory mags, I've never had an issue with them functioning correctly. I'll eventually get around to replacing it with the CDI bottom metal. Mine shoots damn good with reloads and Lapua 155's.

Re: FN A2/A4 Question?

I bought a few SPR actions from CDNN for future builds. Based on the reputation of the actions, I expect these to be good rifles if I do my part. I think the SPR is a nicer action than any of the other domestic "sporter" actions until you get into the high-end custom actions at $800-1000 a piece.

Re: FN A2/A4 Question?

I love mine as well. i looked for over a year before I made my purchase and have not regretted it for a second. 2 weeks ago I had 3 shots in under 6" at 1k yards. So I'm pretty pleased with it. Still has factory trigger set at 2lbs. Other than barrel threading and some od cerakoteing its completely stock. Shoots 175smks like a dream.
