So WTF? They said they'd be offering 6.5CM bbl.s and they just came out with a new Mk20 that has a 16" bbl. and they're supposed to be making a folding stock adapter that allows use of other stocks. Ie, it looks like an updated return of the CSR.

BUT supposedly they're releasing all this shit as parts so you could buy a 6.5CM bbl. and a 16"bbl. and a stock adapter and have it all. Anybody know when they plan on updating shit? They no longer do paper catalogs, I got the last one. Shit online there is hit or miss, one site says this, another that and you can't get anyone to get back to you.

Anybody been in touch with 'em over this? I'd be interested in one, maybe both of those barrels, possibly the stock adapter too. Nothing imminent, but I'd like to know if/when I can get it.

i also "heard" they would make barrels available a few months after they start shipping rifles.
meanwhile i still can't even get a spare firing pin.

I used the email FN gave me, got a "failure to send" notice a day later. Holy shit man.

I'm finding all sorts of different information too. Cans they don't make, rifles they don't make, barrels they don't make. But there are pictures of 16" Mk20 barrels on FNHerstal's site. With both kinds of stocks (but no CSR on this site like the catalog?). Nothing is consistent.

So I'm guessing nobody has a clue how to get these then... Can't get FN to say anything but if/when I do, I'll let you know what I hear. Same if you hear first please.

I think I have an account with FN but I'm not sure. If I do I'll try to just order one and see what happens. How would they handle a warranty replacement for one? Or if you called and said "I fucked up my barrel, my bad, need to buy a new one" and ordered a 6.5 instead of a 7.62? I guess that's if you can get to somebody...

    You are mixing up entities.

FNH sells the Scar to Defense customers, and will configure weapons based on requirements.
FNUSA Sells commercial variants of the Scar in the US and since released over 10 years ago, have not really supported any of the platforms modularity.

Sort of related, and but really are their own entities, It would be interesting what FNUSA would say if you said that your barrel was destroyed or stolen by a deranged lunatic, and you need a replacement. In 6.5.

I personally wish that they would sell the Mk17 6.5Cm barrel

Just get a Deadshot barrel and quit wasting your time waiting for a factory option. Ive been shooting mine for over a year now and it works great (in 6.5mm CM).

I asked FN about the 6.5 barrels about a month or so ago and they replied we have no ETA on when they will be released. Also, I read the 16" SCAR 20 barrels will not be released commercially at all according to a guy who also managed to ask FN directly. Kind of sucks on both!

Dude. FN was supposed to release 20” SCAR 17S barrels like 10 years ago. I signed up for notifications at MGW in 2013 and got the email probably a year after Trump got elected.
FN’s platform support is non-existent. Don’t hold your breath for a damn thing.

waay back when FN started making the SPR rifle they literally didn't make magazines for the rifles. I even spoke with the manager at FN USA and although he apologized it took me a year to get 2 spare mags. The SCAR platform is the same, I had 2 at one time but have since sold all of my FN's. Don't regret it one bit.
Imagine if you needed support!!! I have read that sucks too.........

understandable. luckily nothing i "want" is a need to have, but just in case...and i doubt i can actually break anything on the 20S without abuse or some kind of catastrophic mistake - which is the one of the points of having that kind of rifle in the first place.
otoh, if i had a home build of inexpensive components and could not get spare parts, that would be quickly tossed out.
