I called Timney yesterday asking if they still make a replacement and if so was one available which is when the answerer asked what action is in my PBR...I told him that as I understand it it's a Winchester 70 action which is when he asked if the trigger assy looks like it's in a bunch of pieces or more like a drop-in unit...told him I didn't know and would break it down and see and get back with him...and that's when he told me...
"Well?...if it looks like a bunch of pieces it would be our #401 model trigger replacement but if it looks like it's a drop in unit?...that would be our #402 model trigger and you can just order it online."
Simple enough I guess but I'm very unfamiliar with model 70's so I'm asking you fine folks to run a double check on me and verify that I'm ordering the correct replacement trigger for my 15 years old FN PBR...here's some pix of the actual trigger group and then a pic of Timney's #401 replacement (which looks scarey different). I even thought about just doing the obvious and loosening spring tension via the OEM unit but I read that can cause functionality and safety issues ala slam fire if I go to light but here's the pix...is this the right timney replacement for this hot mess?....
Thanks for any help here because if this is the correct replacement I'd like to get it ordered asap.
