Hey guys,
contemplating a build based on the FN Spr short action.
need some advice
Shhould i get the th bottom metal and their magazines or is there alternate bottom metal which will take aics mags. Mainly wondering if t crf action will reliably feed from aics mags.
Bartlein barrwl, caliber wise not sure. Debating between a 6.5 creed or some wsm...maybe 300. Main purpose will be a semi lightweight all purpose gun.
stock will probably stick with a McMillan.
Buikder...hopefully long rifles inc.
Thougjts, suggestions are welcome.

I would do CDI’s bottom metal. You’ll have to send them the action to machine the mag well for AICS mags, but they include that and the stock inletting in their price. That being said, FN made the SPR a5 in 300wsm with their proprietary DBM system. It’s basically already what you’re looking for and probably cheaper.

I have an AJ Brown built FN SPR action in 6.5 CM, Manners T3 stock, CDI bottom metal, Bartlein medium palma barre, and it my main competition rifle. It was originally built in 308 and I had it rebarreled. It is a great rifle and the FN action has been rock solid with no issues. I would not get the factory mag system but would go with the CDI bottom metal which let’s you use any AICS type magazine. Like Jackalope said, CDI will inlet your stock and modify your action if you buy their bottom metal.

I have one that's been trued, 260 Remington, and is a good light tactical gun for sale in the PX for probably a lot cheaper than you could have it built. Just throwing it out there.

Have a FN SPR 308 with Brux barrel with CDI DBM and McM A4. It’s a hammer and feeds and extracts great.
Also have a FN SPR 7WSM with Broughton in Manners T5 with CDI DBM that I shoot comps with and hunt long range. It feeds great as well.
I Like the manners offerings for the stocks the best But you best order now and prepare for the wait.
