The best fix I found for the TURD that is the McM saddle cheek was to crank down a couple set crews on the side opposite the thumbscrews...that said, the solution sucks only a little less than the cheek itself and my saddles reside in the bottom of the safe, replaced with stockpacks and velcro spacers.
The A4 is the Volvo station wagon of rifle stocks and weighs about the same. A4s are great...if you have never tried ANY other McM or Manners stock.
Of all the SPR stocks, short of ordering what you want from McMillan, I would go with a plain old, non-adjustable A3 and a stockpack.
